Boot-Up! Outdoor Learning offers learning opportunities for students in the 16-19 age range supporting the Further Education curriculum by embedding functional and foundation skills in practical Outdoor Learning activities. Students with a range of learning needs are offered tailored programmes of study to focus on practical application of numeracy and literacy. This is delivered through a suite of Accredited & Certificated AIM Vocational Awards.
We also support ‘Young College’ and are happy to engage young people from 14yrs who do not wish to access school but wish to develop their vocational skills.
Students may work towards AIM-VOC Entry Level 3 qualifications or Levels 1-3 qualifications. These can be chosen from a suite of
- Construction and Woodwork
- Art & Design
- Hospitality & Catering
For students over 18 years of age, these qualifications offer opportunity to gain qualification as a Forest School Assistant (Level 2) leading for a Forest School Leadership L3) course.
For Higher Education students, Boot-Up! Outdoor Learning offers volunteering opportunities and work-experience in outdoor learning. For students enrolled on Education courses such as Early Years, Education and Training, Certificates in Education, Boot-Up! Outdoor Learning can offer placement opportunities for students who wish to consider projects in outdoor learning and Forest School.
